Hello,

I am William (Bill) Briggs and I am a lifelong resident and native of Madison County.

I am running as a candidate for the office of Madison County Commissioner, and if elected I plan to serve the people of our county with my experience, traditional family values, and common sense for a sound and efficiently operating local government.

I am thankful for the opportunity to have served Madison County for eight years as Clerk of Superior Court (assisting many families in settling decedents estates and conducting the office to help people regardless of politics) and eight years as County Commissioner. This experience has prepared me to understand the needs of the county and has given me the common sense to deal with the issues that directly affect the people of our county.

Property taxes are always a very important issue for consideration by the commissioners and should be tailored to the county's needs and function in an effective and efficient manner with respect to property owners.

The garbage issue should be addressed and resolved. Another top priority is to increase the tax base through private enterprise.
